120Hz Motion Picture Pro 3 - Resolution of approx. 800 lines
Fast-moving scenes are displayed with incredible clarity. 120-Hz Motion Picture Pro 3 makes 120 frames/sec from 60 frames/sec video signals. This increases the frame count to allow natural frame-to-frame transitions, for smooth motion images with high resolution. VIERA also uses motion focus technology that greatly enhances resolution.

Motion focus technology
The VIERA LCD detects areas with motion and activates backlight blinking for only those areas, greatly enhancing resolution

Active colour enhancer – Eliminates noise from every scene
This function adjusts the enhancement control for colours in each scene, such as the blue of the sky and green grass, to render images with greater clarity. This advanced colour analysis reflects the vast accumulated expertise of Panasonic’s image professionals. Optimizing the amount of adjustment for each scene makes it possible to create sharper, clearer images with minimal noise.

Colour matrix arrangement – Ratio preservation correction
This advanced colour correction system was developed by taking advantage of Panasonic’s long history of manufacturing displays. The colour density is optimized in the intermediate shades, and the colour levels that are close to saturation are finely adjusted to prevent colour deterioration. By retaining vivid colour shades, it faithfully reproduces even the finest image details.

Fine Black Panel
Panel reflections have been reduced to half those of conventional panels, to sharpen images and reduce glare.
Intelligent scene controller
Enjoy realistic starlit skies right in your living room. Improvements in panel contrast and scene-adaptive contrast gamma correction have achieved a high contrast ratio of 20,000:1* (when using Dynamic mode). The backlight tuning area is also expanded to achieve deeper blacks.

IPS Alpha panel (Wide viewing angle)
The wide 178° viewing angle ensures clear images even when viewed from an angle. The backlight’s wide transmission aperture enhances the contrast between light and dark, and improves motion-image response.
* G and S series only.
Note: Measured at an angle where the contrast ratio is 10:1 or higher.
